US Federal Reserve ‘walking a very thin line’ trying to make interest rate work

CNN Reporter Tom Foreman says the US Federal Reserve is “walking a very thin line” on interest rates trying to make it work.

Mr Foreman’s remarks come after the first signs emerged from the US on Thursday that inflation may have passed its peak.

Consumer prices were up 8.5 per cent last month from a year earlier but has slowed from the four-decade high of 9.1 per cent in June.

“Probably some change from the fed, not a … retreat from the idea that they have to do something,” Mr Foreman told Sky News Australia.
