The Daily Telegraph’s Tim Blair says “rock hard Republican” Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney has been defeated in the state’s primary race.
“Two years ago, she won a primary in Wyoming with about 73 per cent of the vote – 73 per cent, Wyoming is a very Republican state,” he told Sky News host Rowan Dean.
“Then she turned against the Donald, Wyoming’s also a very Donald state, she lost today.”
Mr Blair said Ms Cheney “barely scratched 30 per cent” of the vote, with most of them coming from the more affluent areas in the state.
“She’s meant to be representing Wyoming, she went to Washington and she represented the swamp and Wyoming turned on her,” he said.
