Powerful: Renewing America’s Covenant with God
Introduction
I have wanted to do this show for 10-12 years. Today is the day we explain and restore the American Covenant. We are going to ask you to make a Covenant and turn our faces back to God. The story begins with an 8-year-old boy becoming the new king of Judah. Just as young Josiah made a covenant with God to save his people, it’s time for America to renew its covenant with the Almighty.
The Importance of Covenant Renewal
Renewing a covenant is about returning to something true. It is about recognizing the strength and power that comes from aligning oneself with a higher purpose. In the case of America, this purpose is rooted in our founding principles and the belief in divine guidance. When we neglect the covenant, God becomes wrathful and seeks revenge. There are only two paths before us: total destruction or turning back to God.
The Covenant in American History
From the moment the Pilgrims set foot on Plymouth Rock, America has been a nation built on the foundations of faith. John Winthrop led a colony to the Massachusetts Bay Colony and made a covenant with God. He believed that the success of the colony depended on their commitment to following God’s laws and principles.
Similarly, the story of King Josiah serves as a powerful reminder of the significance of covenant renewal. King Josiah, despite his young age, recognized the importance of renewing the covenant with God. By rediscovering the Book of the Law and making a solemn commitment to follow it, he saved his people from destruction.
The Call to Covenant Renewal
The time has come for America to heed the call to renew its covenant with God. We must commit to honesty, charity, truth, goodness, humility, brotherhood, unity, and loyalty to avoid the path of destruction. These principles have guided our nation through its darkest hours and have the power to restore our collective spirit once again.
To accomplish this renewal, we must first acknowledge our shortcomings. We have strayed from the path of righteousness, allowing greed, division, and selfishness to cloud our judgment. But we have the power to change. We have the power to realign ourselves with the higher purpose that has defined us for centuries.
The Covenant in Practice
Renewing America’s covenant with God requires action and commitment. Here are some practical steps we can take to bring about this renewal:
-
Acknowledge the role of faith: Recognize the importance of faith in shaping our nation’s history and commit to embracing our Judeo-Christian heritage.
-
Turn back to God: Repentance is an essential step towards renewal. It is a humbling acknowledgment that we have strayed and need to realign ourselves with God’s will.
-
Embrace unity: We must set aside our differences and come together as one nation, united in our pursuit of virtue and righteousness.
-
Promote moral values: Uphold the timeless principles of honesty, integrity, and compassion as guiding values in our personal and public lives.
-
Support the common good: Embrace policies and initiatives that prioritize the well-being of all citizens, regardless of their background or beliefs.
-
Practice gratitude: Cultivate a spirit of gratitude and thankfulness for the blessings we have been bestowed with as a nation.
By embracing these steps, we can begin the journey of renewal. Let us not forget that our strength as a nation lies not in our military might or economic prowess, but in our commitment to a higher purpose.
Conclusion
Renewing America’s covenant with God is a powerful and necessary step in our nation’s journey. We have the opportunity to rediscover our true identity and restore the principles that have made us great. It is a call to action, a call to turn our faces back to God, and a call to embrace the covenant that has guided us through centuries.
Let us not falter or waver. Let us unite in our commitment to honesty, charity, truth, goodness, humility, brotherhood, unity, and loyalty. Together, we can usher in a new era of strength, prosperity, and righteousness. The power lies within us. The power to renew America’s covenant with God.
