Labor needs to ‘show some fairness’ over Scottish family’s visa

Sky News host Chris Smith says the Immigration Minister needs to show some “backbone and fairness” in the case of the Green family.

Mark Green, originally from Scotland, has been living and working in Australia legally for the past decade, however was set to be deported by the Immigration Department after a decision not to extend the family’s bridging visa.

A last minute intervention by the government allowed Mr Green and his family to stay for another month, however they are still facing uncertainty over their future in the country.

Mr Smith said the Labor government are “obliged to step in on this case and stop putting this beautiful family … through the wringer.”
