Retired US Army Chief of Staff General Jack Keane says he “couldn’t agree more” with a letter stating US President Joe Biden risks turning a Russian loss into a victory by not suppling enough weapons to Ukraine.
“Actually what’s happening on the ground now is testimony to the content of that letter,” he told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
“Ukrainian forces have been planning for weeks a counteroffensive in the Kherson city area and in the larger oblast or province that Kherson city resides in.”
Gen Keane said the Russians have moved forces into the area to reinforce it and Ukraine has not begun the counteroffensive.
“The reason why they haven’t begun the counteroffensive is because they’re not certain that the United States and the international community will be able to sustain the equipment that they need for the offensive to be successful,” he said.
