Democrats counted on Americans being ‘asleep’

Washington has been “playing a game” with the rest of the country for the past 20 years and Americans have “just about had enough”, Curtin University Political Analyst Joe Siracusa says.

He said he thinks the Republicans have been “renewed” after the FBI raid on former US president Donald Trump’s Florida home.

“This thing backfired very terribly because the Democrats counted on the American people being asleep,” he told Sky News Australia.

“As soon as you get past the beltway, Americans are a lot smarter than Washington.”
