China has 'incentives' to 'strike big and early'

Former US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence Elbridge Colby says he’s worried about the possibility of China striking ”big and early in a pretty surprising way”, as laid out by NSW Liberal Senator Jim Molan.

”In the past I really thought that the Chinese would have a strong incentive to focus an attack as narrowly as possible around Taiwan,” Mr Colby told Sky News host Erin Molan.

”But I think they’ve become so strong and that they also probably assume that the United States, and even Japan, maybe Australia, are going to come into the conflict already.”
